Sycamore Court was developed to provide people over 60 years of age with independent living in their own apartment without the burden of maintaining a house and garden. Every opportunity to enjoy an active social calendar if desired.

The Court

We have 35 totally self-contained comfortable apartments located on three floors: ground, middle and top, and two lifts and two staircases make for easy access. In addition, there are communal facilities on the ground floor: an attractive lounge and a hobbies room and on the first floor there is a pleasant guest suite for overnight visitors to the Court.

Apartments

Sycamore Court has 31 two bedroom apartments and 4 one bedroom apartments of varying size and design. Each apartment has gas-fired central heating with radiators, double glazing, window locks to all windows, an alarm call system with pull cords in each room, a built in electric oven, hob and cooker hood.

Staffing & Services

Unlike many other retirement communities, there is a trusted person on-site 24/7, a Duty House Manager, to deal with any problems or concerns. At night, an alarm call system connects directly to this person. Our Owners find this an invaluable and reassuring service. Housekeeping assistants clean each apartment weekly and our Court handyman assists with any maintenance tasks you may have.

An abundance of communal facilities and outdoor spaces

Communal facilities include an attractive lounge and a hobbies room and a pleasant guest suite for visitors. The communal lounge is often used for private parties.

I moved here three and a half years ago and I have never regretted it. Everyone, staff and residents are very friendly and helpful. You never need to be lonely. You can join in coffee mornings, the Book Club, Poet’ s Corner, Knit and Natter, Rummikub and Scrabble. I feel so safe here – I know I shall never lie on the floor for three days if I have a fall. It is a good life. Why don’t you come and join us.

MF

The support and care from everyone at Sycamore Court meant I have never felt alone, either physically or emotionally, as I navigate this new path. Even in the night someone is only the pull of a cord away, which I find a real comfort. I can live a busy and active life both in and out of the Court, participating as much or as little as I want, knowing staff are unobtrusively aware of my comings and goings and would contact my family if they were concerned.

GW

After a period of being unwell I was very glad to be able to pull the red cord in the early hours of the morning and have immediate support from one of our own people – as there is twenty-four-hour cover- and she stayed with me until the ambulance came sometime later. This episode made me feel very reassured that I had made a good decision to move to Sycamore Court.
